Futurologist Dr. James Bellini is focused on increasing production and curbing food waste as keys to feeding the planet.

In an interview with daily online news service, foodnavigator.com, Bellini noted three food trends that will impact the world over the next decade.


• The developed world will move to a more localized food economy in harmony with the region’s natural, seasonal cycle
• Food itself will become a “big agenda” issue.
• Agriculture will likely move away from flat-land growth and move up, vertically.


In March, Food Vision 2013, will attract leaders from around the world to Cannes, France, for a three-day residential program.
